Hurricane Matthew and 2010 Earthquake

What For?

I'm raising money to help for the recovery efforts of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, and especially, to rebuild destroyed schools and related structures. I need your help to raise as much money as possible, which will go to the Haiti Education Foundation's Disaster Fund.

Later, when the donations are given to HEF's Disaster Fund, funds will be used to build libraries and buy books and covers for the children of several schools in Haiti.

Why?

Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti at a vulnerable moment as the country is still recovering from the earthquake of 2010. The hurricane packed 140 MPH sustained winds, killed 800 or more people and destroyed many buildings and houses. I'm going to raise as much money as possible to give to the Haiti Education Foundation's Disaster Fund. Please join me in this journey to help Haiti.

Later, I will be raising money for books, covers or containers, and the building of libraries.

Who?

I'm David Lechter and I'm fourteen years old. In this campaign, I'm working with the Haiti Education Foundation, which supports over 30 schools around remote parts of Haiti.

Where?

The money will go to buildings and schools, which are located in the southern mountains of Haiti.

When?

The donations will most-likely get to Haiti in a couple of weeks. After raising money to buy computers and supplies last year, I was able to take a trip to southern Haiti to give 15 computers and supplies to a school. I really had a great time and with your donations, I was able to put smiles on kid's faces in Haiti!
